Job Summary General Atomics (GA), and its affiliated companies, is one of the world’s leading resources for high-technology systems development ranging from the nuclear fuel cycle to remotely piloted aircraft, airborne sensors, and advanced electric, electronic, wireless and laser technologies.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Travel Analyst within our Treasury department located in San Diego, CA.

Under general supervision, this position serves as the Treasury Travel & Expense Card Program Administrator and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the corporate card program to meet the needs of the Company Affiliates. This position is also the main liaison between the bank and cardholders.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Audits the program and collaborates with the Travel Accounting Departments, ITS and the Travel & Expense Management System team to ensure business processes are followed and all is running smoothly.
  • Review and approve new credit card requests, applications, and close accounts.
  • Answer questions and resolve issues from cardholders and Travel & Expense Card Program Affiliates.
  • Responsible for granting credit limit exceptions and to open or close expense category types for cardholders as needed.
  • May provide advanced, final tier of support to company travelers.
  • Collaborate with financial institutions to resolve moderately complex issues and institute best practices.
  • Update the travel policy and desktop procedures as necessary and may coordinate review and adoption of new versions with various GA support teams, business stakeholders, and executive management.
  • Collaborate with Travel Accounting, ITS, Travel Manager and Treasurer to contribute to process improvements that increase program efficiency and cost effectiveness. Assist in the training and support of Program Affiliates in all areas of the Travel & Expense card day to day program management.
  • Conduct reviews and analyze costs associated with travel, including credit card transactions and travel related expenses through external suppliers.
  • Conduct spend analysis for future cost projections.
  • Supports and collaborates with Corporate Travel Manager on travel related projects.
  • May maintain company's intranet travel site and/or other internal systems that house the company's travel policies, procedures, and communications.
  • Contacts are frequent with individuals representing outside organizations and/or individuals of executive management and business stakeholders within the company.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating practices and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree and three or more years progressive experience in accounting or a related field.
  • May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • Must be customer focused and have a general understanding of treasury policies, procedures and a general knowledge of the inter-relationship between treasury, insurance, finance and accounting.
  • Must possess:
    • the ability to develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity;
    • the ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information;
    • interpersonal skills and written communication skills to effectively interface with all levels of employees, including senior management.
    • the ability to accurately document and maintain records and files; and
    • good computer skills with a proficiency in computer application and spreadsheets.
  • The ability to work both independently and in a team, environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours as required.

Salary:$56,820 - $96,015
