Job Summary General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) is a supplier of advanced electromagnetic systems, related power equipment and other high technology products for a variety of government and commercial applications. These include products such as the design and fabrication of linear motors, superconducting and conventional rotating motors, power inverters, high-energy capacitors, radiation monitoring systems, high-voltage direct current power distribution systems, and numerous other products.

Under general supervision and with on-going review, this position develops, modifies, coordinates and documents the implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of quality assurance programs and systems on one or more small projects or a phase of a larger project. This position supports the quality staff in providing guidance in interpreting and adapting quality standards and government regulations. Contacts are primarily internal within the team and contributes to ensuring quality standards are in place. Works on routine problems of limited scope.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review and ensure supplier evaluation records and documents are complete, accurate, and compliant with customer and supplier evaluation procedures and requirements.
  • Maintain and file supplier evaluation records according to internal requirements.
  • Maintain and update the Approved Supplier List (ASL) list in MS Excel and in the SAP ERP system.
  • Prepare and release ASL waiver authorizations.
  • Redline procedures and work instructions and initiate document change requests for continuous process improvement.
  • Support Supplier Quality Engineers (SQEs) in submitting supplier evaluation documents in the AuditBoard system.
  • Support SQEs in preparing and completing the required documents for final supplier audit packages and archiving.
  • Participate in external and internal audits of quality systems.
  • Prepare statistical analysis reports on supplier performance.
  • Perform supplier desk/remote evaluations by initiating supplier evaluation questionnaires and special process assessments.
  • May perform onsite supplier evaluations and qualifications in observation and supporting role.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Job Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • Must have a basic understanding of inspection methods and have a basic knowledge of computer operations and applications.
  • Must have the analytical ability required to develop solutions to routine quality issues and the skills required to present those solutions to internal contacts.
  • Must be detail-oriented to accurately prepare statistical reports and technical documents for review in support of company objectives.
  • Must be an advance MS Office Suite and able to manage large excel spread sheets.
  • Must have good communication and leadership skills to ensure project costs and schedules are maintained.
  • Able to work extended hours as required.

Salary:$56,820 - $96,015
