General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) designs and manufactures first-of-a-kind electromagnetic and electric power generation systems. This position will be responsible for directing the planning and administration of the integrated product support strategies and processes. The integrated product support team includes Logistics Product Development, Technical Publications and the Customer Training.

The IPS manager ensures that customer support requirements and objectives are achieved within budgets and schedules to meet marketing and financial objectives. Ensures superior execution and continuous improvement of standard logistics processes. Builds relationships with strategic customers through logistic initiatives. Integrates learning from customers, competitors, other industries, industry groups, and professional training to continuously improve competitive position. Typically accomplishes objectives through subordinate management and/or professional staff.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Plans IPS strategies and establish standard IPS processes and tools for acquisition and sustainment programs.
  • Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility.
  • Direct all contract IPS activities for compliance with standard processes.
    • Manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity.
  • Identify IPS issues and provide leadership in developing solutions.
  • Act as the primary contact for IPS activities and lead progress planning and review sessions to discuss costs, schedule, and technical performance.
  • Direct the development and implementation of annual and long-term technical, schedule, quality, business, and financial objectives for IPS activities and participate in the development of overall unit/Division/Group annual and long-term objectives.
  • Consult on contract negotiations and contract modifications.
  • Consult on the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract(s).
  • Direct the planning, attraction, selection, retention, and development of management, professional, and technical talent.
  • Maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.

Job Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline and eleven or more years of progressively complex logistics experience in a manufacturing environment with at least five of those years managing logistics processes. Additional equivalent experience may be substituted in lieu of education
  • Logistics or Program Management experience in the US defense industry working in Operations & Support phase of the defense acquisition lifecycle.
  • A thorough understanding of the 12 elements of logistics and product support management.
    • Knowledge of the following standards: DoD 5000 series, GEIA-STD-0007, S1000D
  • Must have a detailed and thorough understanding of the principles, concepts, and practices of product support management and experience demonstrating a broad application of those practices and standards.
  • Must have comprehensive project management and leadership skills, including organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones.
  • Must possess the ability to resolve extremely complex management and technical problems and serve as spokesperson on IPS issues.
  • Strong communication, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Customer focused, must be able to work on a self-initiated basis and in a team environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance is required.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • SOLE Logistics Certifications (CPL/CML/DL)
  • Defense Acquisition University DAWIA Acquisition Life Cycle Logistics Level II
  • Depot Stand-Up experience
