We have an exciting opportunity for a Director of Classified IT Systems to join our Security team in San Diego, CA.

Working under consultative direction, this position exercises considerable latitude in leading the design, development and implementation of information assurance programs and related procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Leadership:
  • Lead a team of professional Information Systems Security Managers (ISSMs), Information Systems Security Officers (ISSOs), and System Architects.
Program Development and Implementation:
  • Direct the design, development, and deployment of classified IT systems and procedures. Ensure full compliance for all classified IT system requirements.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
  • Evaluate system security threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Lead the development and implementation of risk mitigation strategies and corrective actions.
Regulatory Compliance:
  • Maintain expert knowledge of all applicable policies, regulations, standards, and compliance documentation related to classified computing environments.
Audit and Inspection Oversight:
  • Oversee internal audits and periodic self-inspections of classified IT systems. Ensure adherence to all required security protocols and reporting procedures.
Policy Development:
  • Contribute to the creation, revision, and implementation of organizational policies and procedures. Lead the planning, design, and execution of strategic security initiatives.
  • Define documentation standards and requirements for information assurance practices.
Organizational Representation:
  • Serve as a primary liaison with internal stakeholders and external partners on matters related to classified IT system.
Training Oversight:
  • Oversee the development of training curricula and course content. Ensure compliance with all organizational training requirements for classified information security.
Advisory Role:
  • Act as a mentor and subject matter expert, providing guidance and leadership to less experienced staff.
Confidentiality:
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all sensitive and classified information.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of departmental or organizational objectives.
Legal and Safety Compliance:
  • Ensure full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and obligations. Promote and adhere to safe work practices and established operational procedures.

Job Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a bachelors degree in a related field, Information Assurance certification and fourteen or more years of progressive professional experience in information assurance or a related field. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
  • Must demonstrate an expertise of information assurance principles, theories, concepts and techniques. Must have experience organizing, planning, scheduling, conducting, and leading work assignments to meet project milestones or established completion dates.
  • Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them in an evolving environment while contributing to the development of new processes.
  • Must be customer focused.
  • Ability to identify issues, analyze data and develop solutions to a variety of unusually complex technical and administrative problems.
  • Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and present findings.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills enabling an effective interface with other professionals.
  • Excellent computer skills. Ability to work independently and lead in a team environment is essential.
  • CISSP, CISM, or GSLC preferred.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Active Top Secret clearance is required.
