We have an exciting opportunity for a Cloud Systems Administrator to join our IT team in San Diego, CA.

General Atomics is seeking to hire a Cloud Systems Administrator to join our team. This position will be responsible for administration, configuration, installation, provisioning, monitoring of Windows systems in a hybrid datacenter environment. Job duties include troubleshooting to ensure availability, capacity and performance of infrastructure systems. Perform assigned duties with general direction from team leads and/or managers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Administers large deployments of Exchange environments and messaging systems
  • Configuration, support and administration of Exchange 2019
  • Perform on-site technical support for Microsoft Exchange 22019
  • Monitor Exchange message queues, resolve non-deliveries, and perform message tracking and record status/findings in daily operations log
  • Perform mailbox moves and restores
  • Perform mailbox cleansing (classified)
  • Deploy highly available, scalable and secure cloud infrastructure with a focus on Microsoft Azure and AWS
  • Implement infrastructure migration methodologies and techniques to migrate workloads into Microsoft Azure and AWS
  • Develop automation to support continuous delivery and continuous integration process
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Azure and AWS technologies (both IaaS and PaaS) and options to support the migration process
  • Work closely with the Development team to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated deployment of infrastructure
  • Analyze and resolve configuration issues in development, test, and production environments
  • Install and configure Windows server operating systems and software on VMware and Physical servers
  • Responsible for On-Premise Datacenter maintenance, patching servers, backups and tape rotations, maintain documentation, server inventory and Datacenter and server supplies and parts
  • Be a team player and coordinate with the larger Systems and Infrastructure team on projects and initiatives
  • Generate hardware and software reports from SCCM to determine deficiencies
  • Be part of on-call support and available 24/7 to help troubleshoot issues that could arise in a Datacenter environment
  • Maybe required to perform other duties as instructed by team leads and/or managers
  • Coordinate with vendors for technical support and upgrades.
  • Acting as a product or application owner in a DevOps Culture

Job Qualifications:
  • Typically requires 7-10 years of experience supporting computer systems with at least 2-3 years of experience with Microsoft Azure and AWS.
  • 5 years of experience with various networking protocols and their use, particularly TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS and WINS.
  • Certifications in one or more of the following is a great plus: 
    • AWS 
    • Azure 
    • ITIL 
    • Agile 
  • Excellent communication skills to both technical and non-technical audience. 
  • Experience with Agile & DevOps methodologies, tools and measurement practices. 
  • Ability to multi-task and operate with a strong sense of urgency. 
  • Can-do attitude to problem solving, open-ness to evaluate and accept new ideas. 
  • US Citizenship is required. 
Required Skill and Knowledge
  • Strong experience with Exchange 2019, and M365
  • Build on-premises Exchange 2019 servers
  • Migration of mailboxes, resources, distribution lists, etc., to M365
  • Strong PowerShell skills
  • Perform upgrades to Exchange
  • Automation experience and knowledge of scripting
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server 2016, 2019 and 2022
  • MS System Center Orchestrator
  • MS System Center Configuration Manager
  • Symantec Netbackup,
  • VMWare virtual server management
  • Data Center management
  • System/application monitoring (Orion)
  • Basic troubleshooting skills
  • Basic knowledge of DNS, DHCP and Active Directory
  • Basic understanding of TCP/IP and IP addressing
  • Ability to write documentation
  • Ability to work with and coordinate vendors
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and quickly determine escalation points
  • Knowledge of other cloud environments like AWS/ Google Cloud is a plus
  • High Performance Computing experience is a plus
  • NetApp storage experience is a plus
  • Agile Methodology
  • Possess both progressive technology experience and project planning acumen - ensuring on-time completion of tasks and projects in a team setting.  
  • Is nimble, forward thinking, and thoughtful. 
  • At home in a hybrid role of “roll up the sleeves” with technology teams 
  • Demonstrates the ability to inspire team effort, communicate IT organization goals, and build consistent process.
