Job Summary General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.
We have an exciting opportunity for a System Test Analyst Supervisor to join the GA-ASI Systems Integration Lab (SIL) team in Poway, CA. Under general supervision with minimal review, this position supports the SIL environments for multiple product lines. This role is both technical and supervisory, requiring hands-on involvement in troubleshooting and repair, while also ensuring tight coordination with cross-functional teams, especially with other SIL team members supporting avionics systems, software, payloads, sensors, data links, ground control stations, test equipment, and ground support equipment.
The ideal candidate will champion a culture of teamwork, continuous improvement, and interdepartmental synchronization to ensure high performance and reliability in a regulated aerospace environment. Collaborates with other engineering members to resolve complex issues and provide feedback for the technical appraisal of the tested systems. Consults on the analysis and development of test standards and procedures. Contributes to the development of systems quality testing, operating methods, and processes. This position involves the exercise of independent judgment and discretion about matters of significance.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead, train, and mentor Technicians & System Test Analysts supporting software, mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical systems.
- Actively promotes collaboration, knowledge sharing, and open communication (verbal, written, electronic) across teams.
- Working closely and in real time with team members and other departments to align technical activities, resolve overlapping issues, mitigate risk, and ensure system-level integration and functionality.
- Participate in coordination meetings and electronic communications to align schedules, resources, and technical priorities across systems.
- Foster a team-first environment where technicians understand how their work contributes to the broader mission and aircraft performance.
- Remain hands-on in diagnostic, maintenance, calibration, repair, and installation of aerospace systems, with a focus on integration with avionics, software, and electrical subsystems.
- Assist in developing procedures and test protocols to ensure accurate and safe system performance.
- Support ground testing, functional checks, and validation of systems involving cross-disciplinary dependencies.
- Ensure all technical work meets customer requirements, AS9100, 8210, and internal compliance standards.
- Manage technician assignments and prioritize workload to meet engineering team system usage, maintenance, and system modification schedules
- Performs technical analysis of systems and prepares comprehensive system level evaluations.
- Contributes to the development/updating of test standards and lab general operating procedures.
- Maintains strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
- Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and safety practices.
- Other duties as assigned or required.
Job Qualifications:
- Typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline and a minimum of five or more years of related experience. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
- Must have a comprehensive understanding of systems test concepts, theory, and operations and experience demonstrating those skills.
- Must be customer focused and possess:
- The ability to develop solutions to a variety of complex problems
- A strong verbal and written communications and presentations skills to accurately document and report findings to a variety of audiences including management
- Strong interpersonal skills to influence and guide other employees and managers
- The ability to work independently or in a team environment is essential
- The ability to work extended hours and travel as required
- Prior experience working in a classified or ITAR-regulated environment is highly desirable.
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance required,
