Job Summary
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems. We are looking for Senior Systems Engineer to join the Agile Mission Systems (AMS) team in Poway, California. There is a need for a qualified individual to lead a team in system development for moving target tracking algorithms.
The qualified candidate has a strong physics background in Guidance, Navigation and Controls methods, multi-sensor data fusion, probability, statistics and stochastics. Experience with these algorithms applied to Air to Ground and Air to Air Radar, Broadband RF, Electronic Intelligence, Electronic Attack and Anti-Submarine Warfare is preferred. Existing software and simulation environment is written in C/C++ and a solid understanding of software principles in those languages is required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSILITIES:
- C++, Python, Radar, Tracking, Resource Management, Algorithms, State Space Estimation, Kalman Filter, Bayesian Probability, Internal Map Modelling (IMM), Multi-Hypothesis Tracking (MHT), Signal Processing.
- Maintain, develop and test target tracking algorithm software.
- Develop and maintain analysis tools to optimize tracking performance.
- Build domain expertise to assist in innovation of prototypes for new, novel algorithm concepts.
- Build upon and maintain state of the art Sensor Fusion and Data Analysis techniques to design autonomous target tracking capabilities for a variety of sensors and systems.
- Operate as part of a small, fast-paced team whose software is deployed to operations throughout the world and must maintain high standards for performance and reliability.
Job Qualifications:
- Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; four or more years of experience with a bachelors degree or two or more years of experience with a masters degree. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
- Demonstrates a detailed and extensive technical expertise and application of engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice as well as project and/or program leadership including organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating workloads to meet established project deadlines or milestones.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Security Clearance is required. With the ability to be read-in on programs.
Salary:$81,080 - $141,650
