Job Summary General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for compiling and analyzing complex statistical data to determine feasibility of making or buying products and to establish price objectives for contract transactions.
  • Serves as a consultant to management and as an external spokesperson on pricing matters and provides leadership in cost and pricing reviews with management and customer representatives.
  • May function in an advisory or leadership role providing direction to professional staff.
  • Compiles and analyzes complex statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives.
  • Determines factors that effect prices and ensures the lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules and contractual requirements.
  • Participates in the review and analysis of proposals, participates in fact finding and negotiates prices.
  • Conducts cost analysis studies to determining manufacturing costs within divisions of company.
  • Reviews subcontract specifications, work statements, and terms and conditions for the procurement of specialized materials, equipment and services.
  • Provides leadership in cost and pricing reviews with management and customer representatives. Recommends alternative methods for cost reduction.
  • May function in an advisory or leadership role providing direction to professional staff. May participate in the selection, development and training of professional staff.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Additional Functions Other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree and fifteen or more years experience in contracts, subcontracts, estimating and pricing in a manufacturing environment. Equivalent experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
  • Must demonstrate an in-depth understanding of pricing and purchasing theories, concepts and principles.
  • Must possess project management skills including organizing, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating work assignments to meet project milestones.
  • Must be customer focused and possess:
    • The ability to identify issues, analyze and interpret complex data and develop solutions to a variety of unusually complex problems.
    • Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and present findings.
    • The ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
    • The ability to represent the company as a knowledgeable resource on external projects.
    • Excellent computer skills. Ability to work independently or lead in a team environment is essential as is the ability to travel as required.
