Job Summary General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with prior experience leading military aviation training at a unit or schoolhouse level to support service offerings with significant growth potential. This position will be based in our Poway, CA facility.

This position reports to a Senior Program Manager and will be tasked for the planning, institution, and management of newly created global training projects across domestic and international MQ-9 customers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage the development and delivery of training programs for customer aircrew and maintenance personnel
  • Develop business plans to establish training services as a profitable GA-ASI business area
  • Lead all phases of assigned program(s) from initiation through delivery.
  • Responsible for program(s) which represent new growth potential.
  • Applies established technologies using standard principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to provide solutions to a variety of technical and business problems.
  • Typically accomplishes objectives through matrixed support managers.
  • Responsible for decisions that could impact outcomes where erroneous decisions could cause serious schedule delays and expenditure of additional time and resources.
  • Combines and reports execution metrics and data in support of program and account managers.

Job Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a bachelor's in engineering, science or a related technical field as well as seven or more years of progressively complex project administration experience with at least five of those years managing programs. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • Demonstrates technical expertise and application of project management principles, concepts, and practice as well as program management and leadership skills including organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones.
  • Must be able to develop solutions to problems that require coordination of technologies across program requirements.
  • Strong communication, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required to enable an effective interface with other departments, all levels of management, professional and support staff, customers, potential customers, and government representatives.
  • Customer focused, must be able to work on a self-initiated basis and in a team environment, and able to work extended hours and travel as required. (Travel less than 10%)
  • U.S Citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Military aviation maintenance experience.
  • Military aviation training unit leadership experience.
  • EVMS experience or prior CAM experience
