Candidates from mechanical, electrical, and aerospace engineering backgrounds must know the fundamentals of engineering system developments, requirements, testing, and integration before getting to the final stages of customer interface and project management.

Job Summary General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Flight Test Technician in Poway, CA. to support the Electrical Test Engineering team. We’re looking for an individual with drive, passion, and creativity to help support our team. Within the Test Engineering group, you will have the opportunity to gain unique knowledge and experience supporting multiple projects that include component level testing, all the way up to applied instrumentation on the test aircraft platform.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Build, test, and integrate cable harness assemblies and test boxes.
- Install and test applied instrumentation within the lab and on-site test facilities.
- Fabricate, assemble, and install simple laboratory and commercial equipment or experimental apparatus.
- Operate lab and experimental test equipment.
- Follow test procedures to assist with set up and test execution.
- Record, collect and summarize test data.
- Clean, adjust and replace parts on lab and experimental equipment.
- Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
- Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
- Performs housekeeping and cleanup duties as required.
- Other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications:
- Typically requires high school diploma or equivalent with one or more years of experience.
- Typically requires electronics background with a basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Must be able to work with common hand tools and operate laboratory equipment.
- Must have the capability to perform complex assignments with little or no direction.
- Ability and willingness to work on systems which have unusual conditions such as high pressure, high voltage, high energy, cryogens, or radioactive materials. Knowledge of computer operations and applications pertinent to the field required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance is required.
