Job Summary General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.
Under general supervision and with intermittent review, this position supports depot engineering and administration by serving as a liaison between the programs, engineering, and manufacturing departments. Reviews and monitors depot progress and expedites critical components and processes to maintain schedule. Evaluates and resolves depot related production problems related to manufacturing, quality and engineering. This position involves the exercise of independent judgment and discretion about matters of significance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinates with Production Control to expedite priority Depot repairs through manufacturing according to customer priorities.
- Acts as primary contact for Depot MICAP items requested by program office.
- Reviews current procedures looking for areas of process improvement.
- Monitors and follows-up on depot work orders.
- Follows-up on closed FRACAS/DR incidents to ensure work is completed per the customer’s request.
- Reviews engineering specifications and drawings to provide technical information.
- Coordinates delivery of organic depot parts to meet contract dates.
- Coordinates with depot manufacturing engineers and production to resolve issues.
- Monitors and reviews engineering issues. Alerts depot planning and manufacturing engineers to open engineering issues that may affect manufacturing.
- Creates Depot level reports for Line Repairable Unit and Ground Control Station repairs for tracking and coordination.
- Coordinates beyond economical repair items with manufacturing engineering and program management.
- Runs depot related reports.
- Creates and updates depot spreadsheets.
- Security access desirable.
- Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
- Expected to maintain a productive and safe working environment in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
- Additional Functions: Other duties as assigned or required.
Job Qualifications:
- Typically requires a bachelor's degree in business, planning or a related discipline as well as three or more years of progressive experience in planning, coordinating and scheduling production operations. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
- Must have a general knowledge of production and engineering support principles and concepts and a general understanding of practices, techniques, and standards.
- Must be customer focused and possess:
- the ability to use independent analysis and judgment in developing solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity
- excellent verbal and written communications and presentation skills to accurately document and report findings to a variety of audiences
- excellent interpersonal skills to influence and guide employees and managers
- initiative to identify and resolve issues
- excellent computer skills, familiarity with excel and Microsoft office products is required; SAP experience is preferred
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment is essential as is the ability to travel as required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance is required.
Salary:$56,820 - $96,015
