We have an exciting career opportunity for an Electrical Design Engineer in the Electrical Engineering Department located in San Diego, CA (Poway, CA)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Under general supervision with limited review, this position supports the design and development of advanced electrical components, equipment and systems for unmanned air vehicles.
- Assignments are normally accompanied by general instructions and suggestions, outlining possible approaches, sources or information.
- Responsible for analog, digital and power conversion circuit design with appropriate analysis and/or CAD modeling.
- Responsible for control schemes, analog, digital or software, magnetic and electric machine design and/or specification, EMI design, thermal analysis and packaging.
- Documentation necessary to support production (i.e. test procedures, records, bill of materials, ICD’s, SCD’s, ECO’s and production support) and training.
- Required to provide field support as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications:
- Typically requires a bachelors or masters degree in electrical engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and two or more years of engineering experience with a bachelors degree. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
- Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly; apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment; organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases; and, determine the appropriate approach at the task level or, with assistance, at the project level to provide solutions to a range of complex problems.

- Must have excellent communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team; able to perform complex tasks in one engineering area; and, lead a team of less experienced professional employees on semi-routine tasks.
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance is required.
- Able to work extended hours as required.
