We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Construction Services Supervisor to join our Facilities team located in San Diego (Poway), CA.

This position is responsible for overseeing the daily site operations of Construction Services. The technical expertise inherent in this position contributes to the preparation of cost estimates, construction schedules, architectural and engineering plans, and project specifications. This position directs and plans the staff to ensure that business objectives are met within schedule timelines and prescribed budgets.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensures the safety of all construction personnel: This position is responsible for the Construction Services safety program. The Construction Supervisor conducts trainings, monitors job sites for safe conditions and oversees personnel to ensure proper use of personal protection equipment (PPE) and adherence to safe building practices.
  • Addresses the human resources needs of the team: The Construction Supervisor works with the HR Business Partner to properly address potential HR related issues or properly direct employees in the case of HR related issues. The Supervisor works with HR to ensure the availability of required talent.
  • Provides oversite of the construction process: The Construction Supervisor is responsible for the overall performance of both internal labor and outside contractors. The Supervisor ensures the adherence to quality, schedule, and budgeting metrics.
  • Assigns tasks to the proper entities: The Construction Supervisor is responsible for the proper and efficient assignment of tasks and project requests that come into the department.
  • Cross departmental collaboration: The Construction Services Supervisor serves as the primary point of contact for all construction matters for the team. This requires interface with end users, FP&C, project management, project controls, architects and engineers, portfolio managers, etc.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:
  • Typically requires an associate's degree in architecture, engineering, facilities management or a related discipline and six or more years of progressive professional experience in construction or facilities management. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • Must demonstrate thorough knowledge of building and site design, construction, operation and maintenance as well knowledge of design and construction methods and processes related to building construction and maintenance. Must have knowledge of codes, standards and regulations as they apply to design, construction, operations and maintenance of buildings and building sites.
  • Must be able to organize, schedule, conduct, and coordinate workloads and staff to meet established milestones. Must be customer focused and possess:
    • a valid California driver's license with a good driving record verified by the DMV;
    • the ability to identify issues, analyze and interpret data;
    • good analytical, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and present findings to a variety of audiences including management and external parties;
    • strong interpersonal skills to influence and guide all levels of employees;
    • the ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information;
    • the ability to select, train, and motivate personnel;
    • the ability to represent the company on external projects;
    • a strong computer skills. Must be able to work extended hours and travel as required.
