Job Summary General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.

Under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for the configuration management function which serves as the key interface for project engineering design and technical documentation as well as technical reporting for DOE and/or DoD contracts. Oversees the records management function which is responsible for preserving various organizational business and technical records.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Performs and oversees configuration management activities related to identification, control and accounting for engineering documents for systems and/or equipment in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Conduct Change Control Board Meetings including setting agendas, keeping minutes and assigning action items.
  • Establishes and maintains procedures to implement and process engineering documents for all assigned projects to ensure compliance with policies and scheduling requirements.
  • Reviews and analyzes engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality assurance and manufacturing to ensure compliance with customer requirements and Company policy.
  • Reviews work project notifications to assure the accuracy of current contractual reporting requirements.
  • Ensures that customer requirements are implemented and reviews change accounting activity to ensure compliance with configuration management policies.
  • Establishes and maintains procedures for storage, retention and destruction of company records, processing, filming, storing and retrieving current and historical design, technical and programmatic documents according to project, customer and company practices and requirements.
  • May provide guidance and direction to lower level staff. May also participate in the selection, development and training of staff.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Additional Functions Other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, or a related discipline and ten or more years of related experience. Equivalent experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
  • Must have knowledge and experience to actively assist or provide direction to subordinates and exercise independent judgement.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to monitor daily operations of a unit or sub-unit and to generally make sound leadership decisions.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills to interface effectively with all levels of customers and company employees, including upper management. Knowledge of computer operations and software applications pertinent to the positions is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD clearance required.

Salary:$98,100 - $171,398
