Job Summary

Diazyme Laboratories, Inc. (www.diazyme.com), is a cGMP and ISO 13485 certified medical device manufacturer. Diazyme uses its proprietary enzyme and immunoassay technologies to develop diagnostic reagents which can be used on most automated chemistry analyzers in user-friendly formats. Products include test kits for diagnosis of cardiovascular disease, liver disease, cancer markers, renal disease, diabetes, sepsis and electrolytes.

We currently have an exciting Biotechnician laboratory professional opportunity in the product formulations team. This person under general direction will join the production team with duties in biochemistry and immunology-based reagent manufacturing. Completes production records, performs data analysis, and interacts with Quality Dept. Maintains confidential and sensitive electronic and hard copy records. May participate in the development of operating procedures and prepares reports as requested. Maintains a safe GMP laboratory environment, recognizes, and reports any abnormal events or circumstances.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works in the manufacturing team focusing on clinical diagnostic reagent manufacturing, in process testing and data analysis. May assist with product assembly and packaging.
  • Assists Diazyme in achieving product order timeliness, preparation & inventory goals.
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established SOPs.
  • May participate in continuous improvement projects and prepares reports as requested.
  • Maintains and updates a variety of confidential and sensitive electronic and/or hard copy records and/or files.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications:
  • Typically requires an associate's degree in a related discipline and one or more years of related experience working in an academic or industrial biology or microbiology laboratory. Equivalent professional experience in an academic or industrial biology or microbiology laboratory may be substituted in lieu of education.
  • Requires a general understanding of biological/enzymological/biochemical/chemistry theories and principles as well as a working knowledge of laboratory protocols, pipetting, pH, and stock solution making.
  • Must be able to safely lift 50 lbs of liquid filled carboys.
  • Must possess:
    • The ability to interpret data and identify and analyze issues, contributing solutions to moderately complex problems.
    • Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to explain general to mid-level information and effectively communicate with all levels of employees.
    • The ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
    • The ability to use basic office suite/scientific software and knowledge of computer operations and applications.
    • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours as required.
