We have an exciting opportunity for a Low Observable Applications Materials Manager to support our team in Palmdale, California.

We are seeking a manager that will be responsible for managing the development and implementation activities for a Low Observable (LO) aircraft coating operations. Manages all phases of the coating application operations from plant layout to daily operations. Participates with technical staff and management across departments to develop and implement current, annual, and long-term technical, schedule, quality, business and financial objectives for the manufacturing operations. The LO Coatings manager acts as a leader, technical expert, and quality control manager for the LO coating process, ensuring that aircraft components are properly coated to meet stringent requirements for performance, durability, and safety.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supervision and Personnel Management: Leading and mentoring a team of coating applicators, ensuring their work meets specified standards and procedures.
  • Quality Control: Inspecting coated parts, identifying defects, and ensuring compliance with quality assurance standards and documentation.
  • Surface Preparation and Coating Application: Overseeing the proper preparation of surfaces for coating and the accurate application of LO coatings, including specialized techniques and materials.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensuring that all coating activities are conducted in accordance with safety regulations and protocols.
  • Resource Management: Managing materials, equipment, and tools related to the coating process, including inventory control and ordering.
  • Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of coating processes.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining accurate records of coating activities, production data, and safety documentation.
  • Communication: Communicating effectively with team members, project managers, and other stakeholders regarding progress, issues, and process improvements.
  • Training and Development: Mentoring and training coating applicators on proper techniques, safety procedures, and quality standards.
  • Inventory Management: Maintaining accurate records of coating materials and ensuring adequate stock levels, including submitting requisitions for new materials.
  • Support for Audits and Inspections: Assisting with the preparation and execution of audits and inspections related to coating processes and quality.
  • Problem Solving: Identifying and resolving issues related to coating processes, equipment, or personnel.
  • Additional Functions: Other duties assigned as required.

Job Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree in business administration, engineering or a related discipline and nine or more years of progressively complex manufacturing experience. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • Must have a detailed and comprehensive understanding of the principles, concepts, theories, and practices of low observable applications operations; extensive experience demonstrating a broad application of operations practices, techniques, and standards; as well as comprehensive project management and leadership skills, including organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones.
  • Must possess the ability to resolve unusually complex management and technical problems.
  • Strong communication, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Customer focused, must be able to work on a self-initiated basis and in a team environment and able to work extended hours as required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.

Salary:$81,190 - $145,338
