Job Summary

Whether a specific satellite for a specific mission or a constellation of interconnected spacecraft, the GA-EMS Space Systems team is re-defining how customers can access the possibilities of space. GA-EMS offers modular and scalable satellite platforms backed with a history of operational flight experience to support defense, civil, commercial, and academic mission requirements.

Our space systems team is looking for an expert in Model Based Systems Engineering to mature and implement the GA-EMS digital engineering roadmap. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the implementation and utilization of MBSE tools to capture system designs effectively. Your leadership will be instrumental in mentoring and guiding engineering team members towards adopting best practices in MBSE.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead, mentor, and educate engineering team members in the implementation and utilization of MBSE tools for system design capture.
  • Lead MBSE Working Groups at both program and enterprise levels, establishing model standards and providing guidance for model development.
  • Review MBSE products to ensure alignment with system requirements, architecture, and established quality standards.
  • Provide support for internal development efforts aimed at advancing MBSE practices and digital engineering within the organization.
  • Conduct trade studies to select appropriate digital engineering tools, aligning with the digital engineering roadmap and program requirements.
  • Assist program teams in developing MBSE work-products to meet program requirements effectively.
  • Contribute to the execution of program design and readiness reviews, ensuring alignment with MBSE principles.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to support internal development initiatives and explore new business opportunities.

Job Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; twelve or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, ten or more years of experience with a masters degree, or seven or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate requirements into design solutions.
  • Prior space domain experience which may include space vehicles or satellite ground systems.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI security clearance is required.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required enabling an effective leadership interface with other departments, all levels of management, professional and support staff, customers, potential customers, and government representatives.
  • Able to work extended or off-nominal hours to support pre-scheduled integration and test events.
  • Able to travel to other GA-EMS locations or customer sites, as required. Typically, <10%.


Salary:$116,480 - $208,505
