We're looking for a Product Owner who can bridge the gap between high-level strategy and implementation. You will align technical teams with customer missions, ensuring that every sprint, feature, and release delivers measurable value.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own the product roadmap, vision, backlog, and schedule ensuring development priorities align with company and customer strategy, objectives, and delivery timelines.

  • Translate strategy into execution by defining actionable user stories and measurable goals.

  • Engage with customers, users, and other stakeholders to collect requirements, gather feedback, and align expectations. You are expected to develop a deep understanding of customer needs and user pain points.

  • Facilitate agile workflows, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

  • Understand GA-I3's strategy as it relates to the project and communicate this to the team. Empower team to confidently make decisions using this knowledge.

  • Work closely with Tech Leads to facilitate agile workflows, prioritize and plan team activities, and communicate with the appropriate customer points of contact.

  • Collaborate across teams with UX/UI designers, QA, DevOps, and engineers to ensure smooth product development.

  • Monitor performance by defining and tracking key metrics to measure product success.

  • Ensure compliance with security and government contracting standards.

  • Identify risks and dependencies early and work proactively to mitigate them.

  • Assesses project issues and develops solutions to meet production, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.

  • May accomplish tasks through subordinate staff and/or indirect management.

Job Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a bachelors or master’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and two or more years of engineering experience with a bachelor’s degree. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.

  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or other leadership roles in software development.

  • Technical background in software development, systems engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience working with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc.).

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of representing the product to executives, engineers, and government customers.

  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable plans.

  • Understanding of software development processes, architecture, and best practices.

  • Detail-oriented

  • Thrives in collaborative environment

  • Good communications skills, with customers, team and stakeholders

  • Customer-focused mindset

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Familiarity with geospatial, AI/ML, or data fusion technologies.

  • Certifications such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager.

  • Strong MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Knowledge of related software tools a plus (Unanet, JIRA, Confluence)

  • Proven leadership experience

  • Experience in conflict resolution
