Overview

Pilots complete Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance missions while piloting Remotely Piloted Aircraft in support of our customers. Responsibilities include managing and performing all aspects of flying from planning, briefing, mission execution, debriefing, aircrew resource management and ground and flight safety. Pilots may be the primary interface between the on-site customer and teams back home and will be counted upon to solve problems.

Job Summary General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.

We are seeking an experienced manned aircraft pilot to join our team at General Atomics, contributing to innovative aerospace programs and advanced flight test operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Qualified to Act as Pilot in Command in type rated Multi Engine Land aircraft.
  • Pilot aircraft with responsibility for safety of airplane, passengers, and crew.
  • Identify and assess advanced technical issues and determine and develop solutions. Coordinate with maintenance personnel to correct aircraft discrepancies.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with company policy and procedures and Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR's).
  • Complete, maintain, and track all qualifications associated with aircraft training, pilot currencies, and medical requirements.
  • Conduct VIP level demonstrations for senior level military and commercial customers.
  • Provide leadership and direction to less experienced professional and support staff.
  • Maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Able to foster and work in a team environment.
  • Additional Functions Other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications:
  • Typically requires education or formal training equivalent to a four-year technical degree and eight or more years of progressive experience in ground and flight operations. Equivalent professional aviation experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
  • Must have a strong aviation background with experience flying modified Restricted/Experimental aircraft.
  • Must demonstrate a complete and detailed understanding of technical principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Must have excellent organization skills including planning and coordinating work assignments with both external and internal personnel.
  • Must be customer focused and possess Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airline Transport Pilot Airplane Multi-Engine Land (ATP AMEL) Aircraft rating
  • Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
  • 3000 hours logged total pilot time including 2000 hours Pilot in Command.
  • 750 hours Cross Country.
  • 150 hours Instrument.
  • 1000 hours Multi Engine Land Airplane
  • 1000 hours in turbine airplanes.
  • Ability to obtain a DOD clearance(s) as well as customer specific clearance(s).
  • Ability to travel both domestic and international for extended periods.
  • Excellent presentation, analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to accurately interface with all levels of military and civilian customers, contractors, aircrew, and other employees.
  • Detailed knowledge of computer operations and applications to include MS Office, Apple IOS, Foreflight, Google Earth, and Garmin products.
  • The ability to work both independently and lead in a team environment is essential.
  • Dornier Do228 type rating and experience desired.
  • King Air 350 type rating and experience desired.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance required.

Salary:$116,480 - $208,505
