Under close supervision with detailed instructions, this position performs routine maintenance of office and building facilities, machinery and equipment. Typically assist trade personnel in one or more of the maintenance areas such as carpentry, plumbing, machine and equipment repair, and electrical repairs. Conducts routine inspections, as directed, to determine maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment. Safely uses hand and power tools. May assist in moving machinery and equipment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists in maintaining and repairing plumbing, electrical, and air conditioning equipment.
  • Maintains and may repair office and building interiors and exteriors including carpentry and painting.
  • May move, reposition or set up equipment or machinery. May move furniture.
  • Drives company vehicle to on and offsite locations.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, codes, federal, state and local regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
Additional Functions
  • May assist industrial mechanic with their assigned task as required.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must demonstrate a basic understanding of facilities maintenance principles and concepts.
  • Must have a working knowledge of and discretion in safely operating hand and power tools.
Must be customer focused and possess:
  • A valid California driver's license with a good driving record verified by the DMV;
  • Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.;
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and other mechanical drawings;
  • Basic analytical ability to recognize deviations from accepted practice;
  • Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to work with all levels of employees and to accurately communicate, document and report; and
  • Basic knowledge of computer operations and applications pertinent to the field. The ability to work both independently and in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours as required.
  • Two-year technical degree or trade school equivalent desirable.

Salary:$35,390 - $52,625
