Job Summary General Atomics (GA), and its affiliated companies, is one of the world’s leading resources for high-technology systems development ranging from the nuclear fuel cycle to remotely piloted aircraft, airborne sensors, and advanced electric, electronic, wireless and laser technologies.

We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Executive Recruiter to join our Talent Acquisition team. This position will be based out of San Diego and will spend time in all three of our locations in the area. The primary responsibility is to manage the full-cycle recruiting projects for all positions at Director level and above. This person will interact with HR Leadership and executive leadership across all of our affiliates.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develops and administers executive recruiting programs.
  • Meets regularly in person with hiring managers
  • Works with hiring manager to document requirements of job openings as required opening requisition(s).
  • Determines appropriate recruiting sources for advertising and posting positions.
  • Promotes the company image to candidates and external service providers.
  • Actively sources candidates and develops networks of people and processes to support a strong pipeline of qualified candidates.
  • Pre-screens resumes and evaluates effectiveness of electronic candidate evaluation tools.
  • Documents candidate evaluation and interview process.
  • Negotiates and/or supports hiring manager in developing new hire compensation package/offers.
  • May conduct employment background checks.
  • Works with agencies, recruiting contractors and/or internet website representatives in the course of conducting employment advertising campaigns.
  • May provide performance feedback on all recruiting agencies/sources.
  • May develop, support and maintain college recruiting, affirmative action and career development programs.
  • Involved in highly specialized executive searches.

Job Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Training or a related discipline and ten or more years of progressive professional experience in a corporate Human Resources department. May substitute a certificate in human resources from a recognized organization and equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • Demonstrates an extensive technical expertise and application of human resource principles, theories, concepts and practices, with the ability to organize, schedule, conduct, and coordinate workloads to meet established milestones with some experience in project leadership.
  • Experience supporting Executive recruiting
  • Must be customer focused and possess:
  • The ability to identify issues, analyze and interpret data and develop innovative solutions to a variety of complex matters of diverse scope and nature
  • Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and present findings to a variety of audiences including senior management and senior external parties
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to influence and guide all levels of employees, including senior managers and senior external parties
  • The ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information
  • The ability to initiate, plan, and manage projects
  • The ability to represent the company on external projects
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment is essential
