Job Summary Under general supervision with limited review, this position is responsible for identifying and developing effective approaches for resolving a wide range of difficult multidisciplinary engineering problems. Assignments are normally outlined in terms of overall objectives and anticipated results. Work is reviewed at milestones or at completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. Captures technical data, communicates results to engineering management and staff, and makes technical presentations as required. May coordinate segments of a specific project and have frequent inter- organization and customer contact on difficult technical issues. Provides direction to design or technical staff and may provide direction to less experienced professional staff.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Applies systems engineering, systems modeling, product lifecycle management, and related techniques, tools, and methodologies to construct, steward, curate, and leverage end-to-end data driven program content for customer programs.
  • Troubleshoots, analyzes, and repairs systems and models by utilizing standard engineering and scientific principles.
  • Exercise thought leadership and practical systems engineering application that enables the evolution of repeatable engineering practice and data driven solutions.
  • Provides documentation and makes technical presentations as required.
  • Directs the activities of designers, technicians and may direct the activities of less experienced professional staff by creating tasking and execution plans.
  • Work across multiple organizations supporting identification and definition of future needs and capabilities to support those needs.
  • Coordinate cross-organizations discussions with subject matter experts, managers, and other stakeholders concerning the development and execution of program technical work.
  • Identify, understand, track, and manage technical and contractual dependencies.
  • Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Job Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; four or more years of experience with a bachelors degree or two or more years of experience with a masters degree. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
  • Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly; apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment; organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases; and, determine the appropriate approach at the task level or, with assistance, at the project level to provide solutions to a range of complex problems.
  • Demonstrated skills in digital engineering execution in one or more domains such as systems engineering, software engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, etc.
  • Must have excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team; able to perform complex tasks in one engineering area; and lead a team of less experienced professional employees on semi-routine tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster a fast paced, dynamic, and energetic work environment focused on execution.
  • Able to work extended hours as required.
Desired skills:
  • Experience with MBSE and Digital Tools
  • Master’s degree in Engineering or related field certification such as INCOSE CSEP or Project Management PMP (among others)
