Job Summary General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.

This position is responsible for assisting in the planning, managing and technical performance of one or more developing or mature engineering program(s) in support of the Advanced Programs Organization. Assists with the Life Cycle Support of programs which are in development in addition to well defined program with established plans and delivery methodologies. Working with others, assists in all phases of assigned program(s) from initiation through delivery. Responsible for program(s) which represent stable growth. Applies established technologies using standard principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems. Typically accomplishes objectives through subordinate managers across a wide spectrum of functional groups within and outside the Sustainment Organization. Responsible for decisions that could impact outcomes where erroneous decisions could cause serious schedule delays and expenditure of additional time and resources.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Create project plan(s) and manage resources to ensure project schedule, budget, quality, and specification goals are attained.
  • Oversee and monitor project schedule, timelines, and milestones from initiation to delivery to meet delivery goals.
  • Coordinate departmental and/or cross-functional teams to assign and prioritize tasks focused on delivering new or upgrading existing products and/or services.
  • Administer policies, processes and procedures that impact project(s).
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Identify and assess project issues and develop solutions to meet productivity, quality and customer satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and guidance to employees working on assigned projects. Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely fashion.
  • May be required to interpret and administer policies and procedures that impact project(s).
  • May participate in, lead segments of or provide overall management for the Request For Proposal (RFP) process to generate new business.
  • Assist in the management of all phases of the program(s) from conceptualization through completion, including acquisition, planning, and managing technical performance to ensure quality, business, and financial objectives are attained.
  • Participate with engineering to establish design concepts, criteria, and engineering efforts for product research, development, testing, and integration.
  • Interact with internal and external representatives at various levels concerning resolution of technical and scheduling issues.
  • Maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Responsible for ensuring all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations are observed wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Responsible for ensuring work is accomplished in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Additional Functions: Other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a bachelor’s in business administration, engineering, science or a related technical field or related discipline and eleven or more years of progressively complex experience in the field with at least five of those years in project management. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • Must demonstrate technical expertise and application of project management principles, concepts, and practices as well as project management leadership skills including organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones.
  • Must be able to develop solutions to problems that require coordination of technologies across program requirements.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required to enable an effective interface with other departments, all levels of management, professional and support staff, customers, potential customers, and government representatives.
  • Customer focused, must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Must possess:
    • the ability to plan, and manage projects;
    • the ability to identify issues, analyze and interpret data and develop solutions to a variety of non-routine matters of diverse scope and nature;
    • strong analytical, communication, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills; and,
    • the ability to work independently and lead in a team environment.
  • Must be able to work extended hours and travel as required.

Salary:$100,290 - $183,098
