Job Summary General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for managing inventory and the storage of material in a warehouse. This includes supporting the movement of material between buildings and in/out of the warehouse and disposition long-term storage of inventory to ensure the storage is still required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES:
  • Assists with maintaining centralized document control center for all accountable transactions and total visibility of assets.
  • Receipt of materials delivered to the warehouse, both physically and in the tracking systems utilized at GA.
  • Participates in maintaining inputs to inventory systems.
  • Identifies common inventory to be transferred to projects.
  • Reviews cycle count results and may assist in resolving inventory discrepancies.
  • Compiles various routine inventory reports using appropriate computer system(s) or hard copy documents.
  • Assists in the analysis of long-term stored materials to disposition and removal from the warehouse
  • Assists with investigations and analysis of inventory activities.
  • Responds to routine verbal and written requests for information from internal sources.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent and two or more years of related experience in inventory planning and control. Additional education may be substituted in lieu of experience
  • Must have a general understanding of inventory planning and control concepts and principles, along with a working knowledge of computer-based manufacturing systems and Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
  • Must be customer-focused, possess the ability to identify and analyze issues, interpret data, and demonstrate strong organizational skills to maintain the workflow within the unit
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to interface with all levels of internal employees
  • Must have accurate reporting and documentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel etc.
  • Working knowledge of SAP is preferred.
  • Experience with driving a forklift, using a pallet jack, and driving a flat bed truck.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems
  • Ability to lift ~65 lbs.
  • Possession of an active driver’s license
  • Forklift certified or ability to be and familiar with sit down and narrow aisle forklifts
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours as required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance is required
