Engineering positions typically require a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience. Candidates from mechanical, electrical, and aerospace engineering backgrounds must know the fundamentals of engineering system developments, requirements, testing, and integration before getting to the final stages of customer interface and project management.

Job Summary General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.
We have an exciting opportunity in Poway, CA. for an Engineering Aide (Integration) in our Electrical Engineering Department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for providing technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.
- Gathers, maintains and compiles technical data such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes.
- Maintains and may manipulate engineering documentation, reports and drawings such as flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics.
- May provide preliminary analyses of data or documentation where guidelines are provided in such areas as basic statistical analysis and model dimensional consistency and accuracy.
- Performs general mathematical calculations using established formulas and presents findings.
- Develops and maintains a variety of documentation and reports as required.
- May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.
- Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.
- May revise engineering reports, flow charts and schematics as directed.
- Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
- Expected to maintain a productive and safe working environment in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
- Other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications:
- Typically requires an associate's degree in engineering or related technical field and one year of related experience. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
- Must demonstrate a broad understanding of engineering principles, theories and concepts.
- Must possess: (1) the ability to grasp new concepts quickly and work with minimal supervision; (2) the ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and other engineering documentation; (3) strong organization skills; (4) the ability to identify issues and interpret data; (5) good analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report and assess situations and make judgments; and (6) good knowledge of computer operations and applications pertinent to the field.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours as required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance is required.
Salary:$56,180 - $83,518
