Engineering positions typically require a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience. Candidates from mechanical, electrical, and aerospace engineering backgrounds must know the fundamentals of engineering system developments, requirements, testing, and integration before getting to the final stages of customer interface and project management.

Job Summary General Atomics (GA), and its affiliated companies, is one of the world’s leading resources for high-technology systems development ranging from the nuclear fuel cycle to remotely piloted aircraft, airborne sensors, and advanced electric, electronic, wireless and laser technologies.
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for performing manual and clerical duties involved in coordinating incoming materials to and from production stockroom. Following established practices and procedures, performs a combination of tasks which may include receiving material, loading and unloading, counting, and transporting materials and recording information and tracking, logging and verifying work orders (kits) from numerous sources. Examines stock to verify availability. Coordinates stock to fill ESR work orders.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinates receipt of incoming materials. Checks materials received against work order BOM for accuracy.
- Analyzes and monitors inventory and work orders.
- Coordinates with various sources to support department materials requirements.
- Updates records of parts providing information to appropriate personnel regarding shortages of critical scheduled material.
- Delivers materials as required to designated lab personnel for engineering projects.
- Reviews and monitors inventory and work order shortages, communicating requirements to planning.

- Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices. Additional Functions Other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications:
- Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent and two or more years of experience in production/ engineering material control.
- Must have an understanding of material control concepts and standards.
- Must be internal customer focused and possess:
- High level of attention to Detail – Highly observant and exact when reviewing information for accuracy.
- The ability to identify and analyze complex issues and interpret data
- Strong organization skills to maintain flow of work within the department
- The ability to establish priorities and respond to complex issues or situations
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of computer operations and applications MAP, MS Word, MS Excel. SAP knowledge preferred.
- Must be motivated with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work extended hours as required
