Job Summary General Atomics (GA), and its affiliated companies, is one of the world’s leading resources for high-technology systems development ranging from the nuclear fuel cycle to remotely piloted aircraft, airborne sensors, and advanced electric, electronic, wireless and laser technologies.
With general direction and limited oversight, this position acts as the liaison between various PLM/Engineering Systems business teams and the information systems technical staff to ensure that information technology design, data, reports, systems and processes meet the needs of the end users.
The position interfaces with members of one or more lines of business across the enterprise, representing domains including systems engineering, design engineering, test engineering, quality engineering, and configuration management. The position supports software and systems used in the ALM, PLM, CAD, CAE, and related domains authored by companies including PTC, Siemens, Dassault Systems, et al.
As the business activity advocate, the position coordinates and provides leadership (including project management) for all information technology developments including developing and documenting product/service/report specifications to ensure end user requirements are fulfilled, evaluating/researching/recommending solution approaches, and configuring/implementing/upgrading new or existing hardware and software systems following all ITS Solutions processes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:
- Act as a liaison between users of business computer systems and the information systems technical staff to: interpret needs into specifications for computer/system implementation, plan and coordinate processing schedules, develop and modify output reports, establish priorities for task completion, and define/modify/update interfaces between other internal and external computer systems.
- Present Ideas and solutions to ensure cost effective solutions
- Research, plan, evaluate, and coordinate new and/or modification/upgrades of existing business processing hardware and software systems.
- Own and manage projects or participate as a member of the project team delivering new or improved capabilities to the business.
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-up skills, a sense of ownership, and extremely organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and
- Advocate ITS Solution processes with business groups, ensuring compliance to ITS Solution processes as well as the business group processes.
- Facilitate weekly or monthly meetings with business groups and development teams on status updates, issues, solutions, etc.
- Maintain 90% of projects delivered on-time/on budget with 80% Satisfaction received from survey
- Coordinate the development of reports, processes, analyses, etc. to meet user requirements.
- Define and coordinate activities between user departments and external agencies such as audit agencies, suppliers, subcontractors, etc.
- With minimal supervision, reduce rework and aging of configurations/developments
- May provide training, guidance, and direction to less experienced staff.

Job Qualifications:
- Typically requires a bachelor's degree and ten or more years of technical experience working with computerized financial, accounting, purchasing, payroll, human resources, manufacturing, or other business related systems. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
- Possess a comprehensive operational and system understanding of engineering functions such as requirements definition, hardware/software design, computer simulation and analysis, verification and validation, configuration and change management.
- Experience in developing and coordinating the development and documentation of requirements from business users and evaluating new or upgraded relevant software and hardware. Must be customer focused, able to look at long-term trends and emerging requirements. Able to work extended hours as required.
- Experience in leading and coordinating interactions between business system end-users and technical staff, including project status, issue resolution, and functional testing. Ability to communicate status of deliverables and timelines to interested parties proactively. Should be able to document issues thoroughly, maintain current status and escalate issues appropriately.
- Extensive experience with PTC Windchill (preferred) and/or Siemens Teamcenter PLM tools and related modules.
- Deep understanding of various functional areas within the PLM products, including part management, document management, change management, access controls, lifecycles, object types, and workflow.
- Demonstrated ability and comfort working at all levels of the customer organization, from senior executive to shop floor contributor. Has the ability to build and maintain business relationships at various levels of the enterprise.
- Full understanding of the SDLC, and familiarity with one or more development methodologies.
- Relevant training or certifications, including CSM, PMP, CBAP, black belt, et al.
