This position is responsible for managing and actively participating in the planning, development, and implementation of technical product training programs for customers, employees, and/or field support personnel. The role emphasizes ownership of the curriculum, courseware, and instructional design process, ensuring training programs are current, effective, and aligned with business needs.

Obtains information from customer and technical organizations, engineering, software, and product requirements to develop comprehensive training solutions. Provides direction on the preparation of lesson plans, training materials, and product demonstrations, while overseeing the design, structure, and delivery of courseware and curricula. Participates in determining training methodology, coordinates the development of training aids, and ensures alignment with instructional design best practices.
Manages and participates in the delivery of training sessions, product demonstrations, and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities. Coordinates continuous revision of curricula, courseware, and lesson plans to ensure course material reflects product features, meets emerging training requirements, and incorporates the most current technical information. May accomplish objectives through subordinate professional staff.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage and actively participate in all phases of training from conceptualization through completion, including planning, curriculum design, courseware development, and delivery to ensure quality and business objectives are attained.
  • Identify program training requirements and coordinate the development of appropriate curriculum, course structures, learning pathways, training processes, delivery methods, and protocols to meet business needs.
  • Oversee the instructional design of training materials, ensuring alignment with adult learning principles and effective knowledge transfer.
  • Manage and actively participate in the preparation of training programs, including outlines, text, handouts, tests, multimedia resources, and laboratory exercises.
  • Develop criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of training activities and recommend improvements based on performance outcomes and learner feedback.
  • Monitor training programs to ensure functional training objectives are met within cost and performance standards.
  • Administer written and practical exams, write performance reports, and evaluate trainee progress to ensure mastery of required skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with technical staff and/or management to develop, review, and implement current, annual, and long-term training objectives, including curriculum and courseware roadmaps.
  • Act as the primary contact for curriculum and courseware-related training activities with both internal stakeholders and external representatives.
  • Identify training program issues and provide leadership in recommending solutions such as re-allocation of resources, curriculum redesign, or modification of training specifications.
  • Ensure organizational leadership and excellence is maintained by participating in the planning, attraction, selection, retention, and development of the required professional talent.
  • Maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Ensure all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations are observed wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Ensure work is accomplished in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Job Qualifications:
  • Typically requires education or formal training equivalent to a bachelor's degree as well as nine or more years of professional experience designing, developing, and delivering technical training.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of company product(s) and the ability to read, analyze, interpret and integrate technical writing source material into training curriculum.
  • Must be able to manage the development and communication of new concepts.
  • Demonstrates technical expertise and application of training management principles, concepts, and practices as well as leadership skills including organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones.
  • Must be able to develop solutions to problems that require coordination across departments.
  • Strong communication, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required to interact with a wide variety of audiences.
  • Customer focused, must be able to work on a self-initiated basis and in a team environment, and able to work extended hours and travel as required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance is required.
