Without appreciable supervision, this position is responsible for administering security programs, procedures and guidance for safeguarding, handling, and control of classified and/or COMSEC material. In addition, this position will perform industrial security task and assignments in compliance with the 32 CFR Part 117 NISPOM Rule and the National Security Agency Policy Manual (3-16), “Control of Communications Security (COMSEC) Material,” as it relates to processing of COMSEC material. Analyzes security issues, participates in developing solutions, and coordinates appropriate actions(s) to be taken to ensure compliance with the classified security program.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist the Communications Security (COMSEC) Manager in managing COMSEC equipment and COMSEC accounting files to include safeguarding, inventorying, and disposition of unclassified and classified COMSEC materiel.
  • Administer security activities in accordance with company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal security regulations, directives, and manuals for safeguarding of COMSEC and Controlled Cryptographic Items (CCI)
  • Conducts semi-annual inventories of all COMSEC related equipment.
  • Ensure shipments containing COMSEC material are properly packaged and received packages are examined for signs of tampering.
  • Issue COMSEC material to only properly cleared personnel. Advice recipients of COMSEC material of their responsibility for properly safeguarding and controlling COMSEC material in their possession.
  • Maintain hand receipt records of all COMSEC material issued to local elements.
  • Implement visitor control procedures ensuring compliance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM).
  • Maintain the strict confidentiality of COMSEC sensitive information.
  • Establish and maintain liaison with government agencies, external customers, contractors, employees, and managers.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Investigate and review COMSEC security violations, preparing reports, and recommending specific preventive and corrective action to be taken.
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Review company’s accounting and tracking property records for accountability of COMSEC parts.
  • Additional Functions Other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree in Business Administration or a related discipline and three or more years of professional classified security experience in a corporate or government environment. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • Must have experience with DOD processes and procedures or an equivalent regulatory environment and/or military training.
  • Must have a understanding of the NISPOM, 32 CFR Part 117 and working knowledge of established policies, procedures, and practices for safeguarding National Security Information and COMSEC.

Must possess:
  • The ability to identify issues and develop solutions to a variety of problems.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to initiate and plan projects and analyze and interpret data.
  • The ability to produce appropriate clear, concise, and detailed documentation and good computer skills on Microsoft Office programs.
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team.
  • Able to work extended hours and travel as required.
  • COMSEC courses. (DIAS) database experience preferred.
  • Asset Smart and SAP familiarity.
  • Strong understanding of COMSEC and SAASM equipment accountability and handling.
  • The ability to climb steps, handle and lift heavy objects.
  • Ability to obtain a TS background security investigation.

Salary:$62,510 - $105,628
