General Atomics Aeronautical Systems UK Ltd (GA AS-UK) is a leading aerospace and defense provider, delivering critical capabilities such as the Protector RG Mk 1 (MQ-9B) to the UK and allied nations. With Protector preparing to enter service with the Royal Air Force, GA Aeronautical Systems (GA-ASI) is strengthening its presence in the UK to support long-term sustainment, upgrades, and strategic expansion into new mission areas.

We are seeking a senior commercial leader to backfill the role of Regional Vice President of Strategic Development, UK, a pivotal position responsible for driving growth, stewarding key relationships and leading strategic campaigns and business development (BD) across the UK and assigned areas in pursuit of contracts typically in excess of £1B.

The Regional Vice President of Strategic Development, UK is needed to manage a portfolio of high-level engagements and ongoing campaigns and is expected to maintain momentum, deepen existing relationships, and unlock new growth opportunities in adjacent markets.

The role requires a high degree of strategic vision, credibility, and the ability to operate effectively across the UK Ministry of Defense (UK MOD), Intelligence Community, Armed Forces, Parliament, NATO, and UK industry.

The Regional Vice President of Strategic Development, UK is based in London, UK, reports directly to the Chairman of GA AS-UK, and matrix reports to the Regional Vice President Europe/NATO, International Strategic Development, GA-ASI. This role will require approximately 25% travel.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Sustain and build upon existing strategic initiatives for acquisition, sustainment, training and Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) track-data correlation.
  • Enhance Protector’s relevance by implementing future upgrades such as Link 16, ISR enhancements, and maritime mission sets.
  • Explore and develop new opportunities within UK defense, home security, and related sectors, including the Royal Navy, British Army, Special Forces, Home Office, and Maritime and Coastguard Agency.
  • Shape future campaign strategy that aligns with corporate objectives and evolving UK and NATO priorities.
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership to the UK BD organization.
  • Oversee future buildout of the BD team, including hiring and mentoring direct reports.
  • Function as the UK BD lead across internal governance structures and as the primary advisor to senior executives.
  • Maintain and expand trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across the UK defense enterprise, including Strategic Command (StratCom), Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition, and Reconnaissance Force (ISTAR), the Typhoon Total Availability Enterprise (TAA), Defense Equipment and Support (DE&S), the Military Aviation Authority (MMA), and Parliament.
  • Represent GA-ASI and GA AS-UK at strategic forums, industry events, and customer working groups.
  • Support the RAF’s multinational advocacy for Protector within NATO and other partner nations.
  • Lead strategic capture efforts across new UK opportunities, including MQ-9B Protector, system upgrades, training and broader platform adoption as well as Advanced Programs such as collaborative combat aircraft (CCA) and autonomous collaborative Platform (ACP).
  • Engage with UK industry partners to ensure alignment with growth objectives and secure competitive positioning.
  • Shape proposals, presentations, and partnership strategies for emerging opportunities.
