Job Summary General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.
Under general direction, this position reports to the SGSS Inventory Manager and is responsible for performing daily warehouse operations, supply support and inventory control tasks in the SGSS Warehouse in Japan consisting of common and customer-specific inventory of spare parts that will support local MQ-9B RPAS operations and maintenance requirements utilizing primarily the Ramco MRO software application and manual processes as required. Works in close coordination between the warehouse, transportation (including external freight forwarder), US-Japan export/import authorities, Site support personnel (Mechanics & Technicians) and other local partner organizations to ensure MQ-9B RPAS parts and tools are provided in a timely manner meeting the Site’s demands in accordance with contract metrics. Works in close coordination with the GA-ASI SGSS Inventory Control Point in Poway CA, USA to provide supply performance analysis and reporting, recommendations on stock level adjustments, timely return and shipment of unserviceable parts requiring repair, and inventory and cycle count performance and discrepancy resolution.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Under general supervision, this position is responsible for performing manual and clerical duties involved in coordinating, receiving, storing and issuing equipment, materials and supplies through one or more warehouse(s).
- The position is responsible for tracking, logging, verifying, and compiling various reports using the Ramco MRO software application and appropriate computer system(s) or hard copy documents.
- Examine stock to verify conformance to specifications and invoices.
- Stores articles according to identifying factors while filling orders or issuing supplies from stock.
- Requisition stock to fill incoming orders and prepare stock use reports.
- Using stock room guidelines for temperature, humidity, weight or height limits, turnover, floor loading capacity, and required space, determines methods or places for storage.
- Assignments are of moderate scope and importance where judgment is required in analyzing, interpreting, and making recommendations in resolving non-routine issues.
- May provide direction to less experienced staff and subcontracted Customs Bonded Warehouse personnel.
- Receive inventory from the SGSS ICP or MOB Warehouse network, verify identification codes, shipping documentation and quantities. Report any discrepancies, damages or tampering from shipment to the SGSS ICP.
- Record incoming and outgoing inventory and/or material in the Ramco MRO software application or hard copy record(s).
- Prepare and attach a variety of property identification markers and RFID labels.
- Analyze and maintain sufficient inventory levels to meet local flight, high time and repair requirements, while maintaining inventory levels in accordance with needs defined by the SGSS program.
- Fulfill standard and immediate material requests and may complete kit requests.
- Restock inventory to assure they are at the appropriate level.
- Document and restock returned inventory.
- Package, label, and document items for shipping.
- Maintain daily, periodic, and ongoing records and prepares routine as well as ad hoc requested electronic and hard copy reports.
- May identify, report, investigate and/or resolve inventory shortages, overages, or discrepancies.
- Respond to routine and non-routine verbal and written requests for information from internal sources and may respond to verbal and written requests for information from authorized external parties and/or agencies.
- Review and analyze conflicts in supply and demand. Investigate and provide resolution as required.
- Prepare monthly report of warehouse or stockroom productivity.
- May provide direction to less experienced staff.
- Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
- Additional Functions Other duties as assigned or required.
