Job Summary General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.

This position is responsible for providing leadership to a team of Operations Specialist (e.g. Pilot, Sensor Operators, Mechanics, etc.) at customer sites operating Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). Plans, coordinates and directs subordinate activities in accordance with organizational goal to meet established training requirements. Executes flight mission planning, briefs and debriefs, and risk management. Integrates logistics, administration, personnel, and training functions to ensure appropriate resource availability. Develops up-to-date accurate documentation and reports to reflect team activity. Establish operating policies and procedures that affect subordinate units. Interprets, executes and recommends modifications to organizational policies. Provides leadership in the planning, selection, retention, and development of staff. Represents the team to upper-level management and outside representatives and gives presentations as required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead and direct a team through all phases from pre-deployment through deployment, ensuring all required training, briefs and administrative requirements are complete and up-to-date.
  • Participate in the development of overall unit objectives and long-range goals.
  • Develop, coordinate and implement training programs.
  • Conduct and implement risk management.
  • Develop and coordinate briefings to site team(s).
  • Develop and present accurate and timely site reports, operational flight plans and technical reports.
  • Provide leadership in the planning, selection, retention and development of staff.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Must work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Additional functions or other duties as assigned or required.
