This position is responsible for providing leadership and will orchestrate the MQ-9 UAS Flight Operations Team consisting of Pilots, Sensor Operators and Payload Operators to successfully plan, coordinate and execute ISR missions for customer agency/organizations. In accordance with organizational goals, and following established policies and procedures, coordinate subordinate activities to meet established training requirements as well as execute flight mission planning, flight plan submissions, briefs and debriefs, risk management and ensure other external coordination required for flight operations are executed in a timely manner.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Interpret/translate customer ISR needs into executable flight and sensor operation / data collection plan.
  • Consult Pilot with data collection recommendation plan from Sensor and Payload Operators for ISR mission flight planning and execution.
  • Monitor aircrew flight time and health to avoid fatigue build up that may impact flight safety.
  • Track and maintain Flight Operations Team qualification currency and other training needs.
  • Ensure adequate understanding on Airspace Management is shared among the Flight Operations Team and customer, including Air Traffic Control communication protocols, weather restrictions, restricted/limited airspace access, etc.
  • May provide guidance and training to less experienced individuals.
  • Maintain good liaison with customer(s) at Headquarters & local station levels to resolve operational issues.
  • Responsible for safe operations, in compliance with both company procedures and local regulatory guidance.
