Overview

Pilots complete Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance missions while piloting Remotely Piloted Aircraft in support of our customers. Responsibilities include managing and performing all aspects of flying from planning, briefing, mission execution, debriefing, aircrew resource management and ground and flight safety. Pilots may be the primary interface between the on-site customer and teams back home and will be counted upon to solve problems.

Job Summary General Atomics Systems Integration, LLC (GA-SI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a provider of military and commercial engineering services. GA-SI is a leading-edge expert in systems integration technologies, reliability improvements, and controls system design.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced UAV Pilot to join our Aero Services Division in Las Vegas, Nevada. This role will be supporting a specific customer and will not involve extensive travel.

Without appreciable direction, this position exercises considerable latitude in overseeing flight operation efforts including mission planning, execution and briefing, debriefing, aircrew resource management and ground and flight safety. Serves as Mission Control Element (MCE) Pilot-in-Command (PIC) of assigned Unmanned Air Vehicle(s) (UAV).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Coordinates and actively participate in flight operation efforts including mission planning, execution and briefing, debriefing, aircrew resource management and safety.
  • Defines, plans, organizes and executes complex flight profiles in a tactical environment in support of customer requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with service guidance, company policy and procedures.
  • Interacts directly with the customer in the employment of aircraft on matters of importance to include the collection of data, tactical situation and overall mission
  • May act as a subject matter expert providing academic and in-flight instruction.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Additional Functions Other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications:
  • Typically requires educational training equivalent to the completion of a four-year technical degree or trade school equivalency and five or more years’ experience in UAV operation or aviation. Equivalent professional or military experience in UAV or aviation may be substituted in lieu of education.
  • Must demonstrate an extensive understanding of UAV and FAA principles, theories and concepts.
Must also possess:
  • FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with a current instrument rating and ability to maintain instrument currency or DOD specialized remotely piloted aircraft system training / qualification documented on USAF Form 8 or equivalent; Pilot-in-Command (PIC).
  • At least five hundred (500) hours as Pilot-in-Command (PIC)
  • At least one thousand five hundred (1500) hours flight experience in a manned aircraft or UAV.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a customer specific security clearance.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to accurately interface with all levels of employees, including senior management and senior military and civilian customers, contractors and aircrew.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a FAA Class II medical certificate.
  • The ability to work both independently and lead in a team environment is essential.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an adjudicated polygraph TS/SCI.

Salary:$115,010 - $177,215
