GA-EMS offers modular and scalable satellite platforms backed with a history of operational flight experience to support defense, civil, commercial, and academic mission requirements.

Our Space Systems team is looking for a Launch Vehicle Integration Systems Engineering Lead. In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the successful integration of GA-EMS developed space vehicles with launch vehicle systems.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Space Vehicle Launch Systems Integration engineer responsible for:
    • Lead/participate in LSI working groups with LV and customer stakeholders
    • Establish, build, and maintain strong working relationships with launch service providers
    • Execute launch integration activities with launch service provider (weekly meetings, technical exchanges, schedule updates, etc.)
    • Lead development of LV interface requirements and ICDs
  • Using traditional and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches lead and contribute to the development all SE work products which may include:
    • CONOPS
    • System Architecture
    • Requirements and Interface Control Documents
    • Mission and System Analysis
    • Trade Studies
  • Accountable for technical, cost and schedule execution of the program’s LSI control account.
    • Ensures all work products are produced in accordance with the project plan to satisfy the customer requirements.
    • Ensures all work product are completed on cost and schedule.
    • Define IMS tasks required to complete scope of work to achieve program milestones.
    • Control account manager for assigned control accounts.
  • Contributes to conduct of program design and readiness reviews.
  • Collaborating with SE leadership and peers to ensure consistent implementation of SE practices across programs.
  • Opportunities will arise to support internal development and new business opportunities.

Job Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; nine or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, seven or more years of experience with a masters degree, or four or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
  • 5+ years launch integration experience and 1+ successful launch campaign
  • Prior experience as an IPT lead or technical lead strongly desired
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required enabling an effective leadership interface with other departments, all levels of management, professional and support staff, customers, potential customers, and government representatives.
  • Customer focused, formulates plans based on the development of innovative new designs in resolving advanced technical engineering problems. Must be able to work on a self-initiated basis and in a team environment.
  • Must have active TS clearance and be able to obtain and maintain TS/SCI security clearance.

Salary:$105,890 - $189,545
