GA-EMS offers modular and scalable satellite platforms backed with a history of operational flight experience to support defense, civil, commercial, and academic mission requirements.

Our space systems team is looking to add a Space Mission Systems Engineer to support our space system development programs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support space system Concept of Operations (CONOPs) development and ensure the ground segment design and Mission Operations Plan satisfies the program CONOPs.
Responsible for the development and maintenance of Mission Operations Plans, to include LEOP
Support integration & test phases as programs transition to dress rehearsals
Support mission dress rehearsal planning and execution
Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
Using traditional and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches lead and contribute to the development all SE work products which may include:
- System Architecture development of complex systems and CONOPS development
- Requirements and Interface Control Document (ICD) development
- Ground Services Integration, Test and/or Verification
- Design reviews, milestone reviews such as SRR, PDR, CDR, IRR, TRR, PSR
Contributes to conduct of program design and readiness reviews.
Expected to be part of on-call rotation for on-orbit operations
Collaborate with multiple teams across the program to deliver and maintain the best operational system and seek efficiencies.

Job Qualifications:

Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; six or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, four or more years of experience with a masters degree, or two or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
Prior experience in space domain and satellite segment design desired.
Familiarity with the following tools is desired: Cameo or Magic Draw, DOORS, Atlassian (JIRA, Confluence)
Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required enabling an effective leadership interface with other departments, all levels of management, professional and support staff, customers, potential customers, and government representatives.
Must have active DoD Top Secret security clearance and be able to obtain and maintain TS/SCI security clearance.
