Job Summary
GA-Intelligence maintains and deploys production systems for users across the Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, and commercial industry. We build and develop best-in-class all domain and globally focused situational awareness capabilities, including THRESHER and DRAGONSPELL, that process petabytes of data from numerous streaming data sources in near real time. GA-Intelligence is looking for an experienced Tracking Engineer to lead and oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of tracking products and initiatives. Leverage your experience in engineering air, maritime, and ground tracking solutions to ensure strategies are aligned with organizational goals. Oversee development of advanced probabilistic tracking solutions to empower real-time situational awareness. Lead and Influence our growing teams and shape the future of tracking and intelligence integration.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Influence the overall vision and goals of the tracking engineering practice within the organization.
- Develop long-term strategies and initiatives to enhance tracking capabilities against a range of products.
- Deliver and support core tracking strategy and multi-quarter roadmap, ensuring alignment with the company's long-term objectives.
- Oversee architecture of robust tracking systems incorporating advanced state estimation techniques (e.g. Kalman/IMM filters).
- Stay informed of industry trends and advancements to keep the organization at the forefront of tracking innovations.
- Lead the development and deployment of tracking systems, ensuring adherence to software compliance standards.
- Leverage advanced data fusion techniques to accurately track objects in dynamic environments.
- Design and guide the implementation of scalable architectures for real-time and batch data processing.
- Document technical concepts, system architectures, and implementation details in a clear and concise manner for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborate across functions, such as data science, software engineering, and product management, to integrate tracking systems with broader organizational efforts.
- Collaborate with product leadership, domain experts, users, development teams, and management to prioritize features.
- Serve as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders, effectively communicating complex technical concepts and requirements.
Job Qualifications:
- Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in computer science, information system or related discipline and progressive software development experience as follows; nine or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, seven or more years of experience with a masters degree, or four or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
- Prior experience in Global Situational Awareness (GSA) engineering space.
- Experience with filtering algorithms, such as Kalman filters and Interacting Multiple Model (IMM) filters.
- Knowledge of machine learning and for enhancing tracking capabilities, such as object detection and classification.
- Experience with a variety of programming languages, such as Java, Scala, Python, and Golang.
- Supporting experience to execute against database technologies such as PostgreSQL.
- Experienced with software version control systems, in particular, git.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Familiarity with Intelligence Community and DoD mission sets
- Experience with Computer Vision systems and intelligence collection.
- CI/CD pipelines and tooling (Gitlab CI/CD, ArgoCD, CircleCI, Jenkins).
- Experience with sensor technologies and data acquisition systems used in tracking applications, such as radar, lidar, GPS, or cameras.
- Deployment technologies such as: Docker, Kubernetes, Knative, Helm, Rancher.
- Supporting experience to execute against cloud technologies such as Hadoop, Kafka, HBase, Accumulo.
- Knowledge of cloud computing platforms and services, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure.
- Interested in maintaining and adapting existing codebases.
- Experience tracking objects via data fusion of multiple sources.
- CompTIA Security+ certification or willingness to get certified.
