Job Summary General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) is a supplier of advanced electromagnetic systems, related power equipment and other high technology products for a variety of government and commercial applications. These include products such as the design and fabrication of linear motors, superconducting and conventional rotating motors, power inverters, high-energy capacitors, radiation monitoring systems, high-voltage direct current power distribution systems, and numerous other products.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Technician to join our Electromagnetic Systems (EMS) Group located in Tupelo, MS. This position supports standard production operations on electro-mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and equipment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assists engineering staff and lead technicians in manufacturing development activities of mechanical assemblies.
  • Assists with the modification, fabrication, assembly, operation, installation, repair and maintenance of production and assembly equipment.
  • Operates specialized manufacturing equipment for production of large mechanical assemblies.
  • May operate heavy equipment (forklifts, cranes, lifts) to aid in the installation and removal equipment requiring a clean and valid driver’s license.
  • Maintains a clean work area by returning tools, equipment, and materials to storage areas.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Performs housekeeping and cleanup duties as required.
  • Works in a team environment with other members in engineering, quality, and manufacturing.

Job Qualifications:
  • Typically requires high school diploma or equivalent with one or more years of experience.
  • Must be able to work with common hand tools.
  • Must have the capability to perform moderate assignments with little or no direction.
  • Ability and willingness to work on systems which have unusual conditions such as high pressure, high voltage, high energy, or cryogens.
  • Knowledge of computer operations and applications pertinent to the field required.
  • Ability to be flexible with schedule to accommodate night shifts.

Salary:$40,500 - $60,218
