Our Tool Engineering and implementation team is responsible for bridging the gap between Airframe Design and Production Manufacturing. Through the course of our work we are routinely engaged in activities spanning from conceptual design, DFM/DFA, manufacturing process development/documentation, tool engineering, coordination of tool procurement, support of prototype and first article builds. These activities are conducted in support of heavily composite airframe structure manufacture beginning with detail part lamination through final airframe assembly and integration. Our team is a single point resource for airframe production tooling and requires us to have a diversified breadth of experience within our team to properly execute projects of advanced scope and complexity.
This position will focus on the execution of tooling programs including the management of technical, schedule, and budgetary requirements. To effectively serve this role the candidate will need to hold regular meetings to review status and task across multiple teams including tool engineering, vendors, manufacturing engineering, design engineering, and program office. A strong technical background with an understanding of the tool manufacturing industry is highly desired. The ideal candidate will be highly personable with strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skillsets. Experience with schedule building, project tracking, cost estimation, and budgetary tacking are all desirable.
Prior work experience defining schedules, budgets, and constraints over projects of significant scope.
Demonstrated experience working collaboratively both within and across teams is required with the ability to create a positive team environment.
Strong communication, presentation, and documentation skills are required
Familiarity with AS9100, ISO9100, NADCAP certification requirements desirable.
Exposure to various composite manufacturing processes and tooling concepts.
Experience with Pro-E/CREO CAD software preferred, other CAD experience also considered desirable
Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; six or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, four or more years of experience with a masters degree, or two or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
Provides direction to an experienced staff to help guide the proper prioritization of work. Demonstrated experience in effective time management and prioritization of competing needs.
Vendor oversight and the facilitation of regular communication, tracking, and issue resolution.
Documents findings, communicates results to engineering staff, makes technical presentations, and may represent the organization as the prime technical contact on projects.
Advises management of work in progress, material availability and potential problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and/or services are provided as needed.
Candidate will be responsible for working with personnel throughout the company to help resolve any issues related to the execution of tool programs that may impact the manufacturing delivery schedule.
Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
