We currently have an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Project Manager (PM) reporting to the Director of Energy Products. The PM is responsible for managing the operational aspects of multiple project(s) focused on the development of General Atomics Power Conversion/Conditioning equipment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop project plan(s) and manage resources to ensure project schedule, budget, quality, and technical specification goals are attained.
  • Manage and monitor project schedule, timelines, and milestones from initiation to delivery.
  • Understand and communicate program technical, schedule, and financial risks associate with complex mechanical/electrical systems.
  • Manage the coordination of departmental and/or cross-functional teams to assign and prioritize tasks focused on delivering new or upgrading existing products and/or services to the project plan.
  • Assign and monitor work of project management staff, providing technical support and direction when necessary.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, requirements documentation, and presentations to internal and external audiences.
  • Communicate effectively and routinely with the Director, and EMS upper management to keep them informed on the status of relevant projects.
  • Collaborate across management, sales, proposal, and project teams to expand services and potential business opportunities to support organizational goals.
  • Identify and assess project issues, and develop solutions to meet productivity, quality and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Proactively forecast business expectations using complex excel, or equivalent data analysis to support material procurement and catalog offering strategies.
  • Ability to lead multiple functional groups with little management oversight and develop new processes and performance metrics to effectively manage senior management expectations and minimize business risk.
  • Detailed working knowledge of Earned Value Management principles and ability to organize large and complex data sets to accurately identify ETC’s and EAC’s.
  • Manage programs through all execution phases including basis of estimates, proposals, contract award and negotiations, master schedule, Earned Value EAC/ETC, engineering design, material procurement, production, and product delivery to delight customers and achieve business goals.
  • Understand primary business performance, manufacturing, finance, sales and forecasting principles.
  • Act as a lead providing direction and guidance to employees working on assigned project. Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely fashion.
  • Establish operating policies and procedures that impact project(s). Interpret company-wide policies and procedures as they relate to the project(s).
  • Maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Be responsible for ensuring all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations are observed wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Be responsible for ensuring work is accomplished in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Support meetings with U.S. and international customers as required.

Job Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Business Administration or related discipline and thirteen or more years of progressively complex experience in the project administration field with at least seven of those years in project management.
  • Must demonstrate an extensive understanding of project management processes and procedures, planning and scheduling methods, and budget management as well as the ability to organize, schedule, and coordinate workloads to meet established milestones and budgets.
  • Must possess:
  • the ability to initiate, plan and manage projects.
  • the ability to identify issues, analyze and interpret data and develop solutions to a variety of non-routine issues of diverse scope and nature.
  • strong analytical, communication, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • the ability to work independently and lead in a team environment.
  • Preferred candidates will have:
  • a PMP certification.
  • a technical degree.
  • experience with development and production of power conversion equipment used for medium voltage on naval platforms.
  • worked on DoD projects.
  • led a multi-year project.

Salary:$125,810 - $229,670
