Job Summary
General Atomics (GA), and its affiliated companies, is one of the world’s leading resources for high-technology systems development ranging from the nuclear fuel cycle to remotely piloted aircraft, airborne sensors, and advanced electric, electronic, wireless and laser technologies.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Product Owner to join the ITS Finance and Accounting Value Stream team in Poway, San Diego reporting to the ITS Finance and Accounting Value Stream Manager. This position will act as a Business Systems Analyst and Application Administrator for our portfolio of Earned Value Management applications (MPM, Cobra, forProject and associated reporting tools).

  • Acts as a liaison between business system users and the information systems technical staff to interpret needs into specifications.
  • Gathers business requirements, develops presentations and prototypes to illustrate solution options followed with detailed design, development, testing, implementation, and stabilization of end-to-end solutions.
  • Owns application support roadmap/updates and coordinates with business end users for testing and installing new software releases, and application system upgrades.
  • Identify, review, and recommends new/upgraded software, hardware and/or computer systems that will facilitate/enhance business operations.
  • Learns new technologies and brings new ideas and solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Learns and adopts various internal ITS processes around tickets management, software development lifecycle, change management, project methodology, etc.
  • Works closely with infrastructure teams to identify and configure required platforms for deployment and ongoing support of applications. i.e. Server model / OS / Database / Network devices.
  • Maintains solution configuration documentation, action runbooks and database architecture of application assets.
  • Determines requirements for ongoing monitoring and works with COTS team on fine-tuning applications to achieve uptime and resiliency.
  • Works partly in a support/sustainment environment as well as project-based environment.
  • Drives timely resolution of issues/tickets assigned through entire lifecycle – Inception to Closure.
  • Works collaboratively with various IT and business stakeholders either on site or at remote locations within the United States.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications:
  • Senior typically requires a bachelor's degree and 15+ years of progressive professional experience in relevant business practices, techniques, standards and related software/hardware, and computer systems. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • Degree in Information Systems or Finance/Accounting is preferred
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Must have strong communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team; able to perform complex tasks in one or more software development area; capable of representing the organization as a prime technical contact and, lead a team of moderately experienced professional employees on single component projects
  • A general operational and system understanding of Earned Value business processes is desirable.
  • Experience administrating and configuring Earned Value tools such as MPM, Cobra and forProject.
  • Experience with MS Project Server, databases, advanced user of Excel preferred.
  • Must have proficiency with developing JavaScript, SQL, HTML and VBA.
  • Working knowledge of application front end, middle tier, and backend technologies as well as Web Services and technologies such as Windows Server IIS, Apache Tomcat, SSL configurations.
  • Basic knowledge of common database platforms and experience executing vendor provided database deployment installers or scripts. Familiarity of MS SQL Management Studio and SQL Developer a plus.
  • Familiarity with network appliances as used by business application configurations such as load balancers, proxies, and Firewalls.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise networking principles and Windows Active Directory domain resources.
  • Experience using SDLC tools such as Service Now (SNOW), JIRA, Confluence and HPQC.
  • Experience working with virtual desktop environments.
  • A strong team player who works collaboratively with others and be customer focused.
