We have an exciting opportunity for an Undergraduate Student to join our Program Management Office in Poway, California. This internship opportunity is available to an undergraduate student pursuing a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) degree with an interest in applying these skills towards business development and project management. This role will expose the intern to project management principles and techniques in support of managing hardware engineering projects on the Army Gray Eagle Performance Based Logistics (PBL) contract – gaining exposure to the many opportunities available at GA-ASI while becoming familiar with programmatic requirements including contractual compliance, scope, schedule and budget. Assignments will be accompanied by general instructions and suggestions, outlining possible approaches, sources of information, and potential problems to be encountered with work reviewed regularly.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Completion of routine tasks with a focus on coordination with external departments (engineering, manufacturing, contracts, procurement, sustainment, etc.)
  • Assists in applying knowledge to analyze, investigate and resolve problems associated with successful execution of engineering projects
  • Assists in developing electronic and hard copy reports, records, diagrams, charts, schedules, and estimates used to effectively communicate project status and activities
  • Supports internal and customer focused meetings with regular project status updates
  • Supports recurring activities including labor and cost reviews for trends, anomalies and recommendations for updates in support of earned value reporting
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices

Job Qualifications:
  • Desired Skills: Microsoft Suite, Organized, Multi-tasker, Strong Analytical skills
  • Requires active enrollment and currently attending as an undergraduate student at a recognized college or university.
  • Applicants who will have completed their undergraduate degree by the time the internship program would begin, must be planning to continue in a graduate program immediately following the conclusion of the internship program.
  • 3.0 cumulative GPA preferred
  • Ability to understand new concepts and apply them accurately.
  • Ability to follow general and detailed instructions as well as organizational policies and procedures.
  • Basic communication and interpersonal skills to enable effective interface with internal professionals.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Basic computer skills.
This position pays at an hourly rate of $22.00 - $24.00/hr., depending on your specific field of study and the number of college years completed.
