Job Summary General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.
Under close supervision, this position is responsible for participating in the development and coordination of the administration of computerized databases, including relational databases, to ensure accurate, appropriate and effective use of data, including database definition, structure, documentation, long-range requirements, and operational guidelines. Develops technical solutions to a variety of non-routine problems. Participates in quality control audits to ensure accuracy, completeness and proper usage of data in table and various report tools including Business Objects and database dictionaries.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBIITIES:
- Administer Oracle, Microsoft and various databases; maintain software programs.
- Participate in code migration between environments.
- May manage Job Scheduling on servers.
- Summarize data and develops system reports.
- Develop SQL programs based on business requirements.
- Import, export and back-up data between different database environments as required.
- Develop, maintain and enhance intranet software.
- Participate in software enhancement testing prior to release for production use.
- Participate in developing procedures and standards relating to database management, and monitors transaction activity and utilization.
- Maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Work with organizational units to develop and document best practices for software use
- Manage User access and Profiles to supported databases
- Provide instructor led training in both small classroom and virtual based training environments
- Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
- Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
- Additional Functions Other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications:
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline. May substitute equivalent working experience in the field. Must have a basic understanding of underlying data and applications.
- Must possess the following, but not limited to, system knowledge: Windows server, IBM AIX Power Systems/Sun Solaris Server.
- Must have the capability to perform assignments with little direction.
- Required to utilize independent judgment related to processing functions and activities.
- Must have good analytical ability to perform non-routine assignments, utilizing judgment in order to resolve assignments in a creative and efficient manner.
- Must be computer literate with an adaptable knowledge of computer application pertinent to the position.
- Must be able to work independently or on a team providing solutions to a variety of non-routine problems and be able to work extended hours as required.
- Must possess good interpersonal skills, and verbal and written communication skills to interface with various levels of employees.
- Experience with other database applications such as SAP, MTO, MSSQL and Oracle Technologies is desirable.
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Security Clearance.
