We have an exciting opportunity for a Paint Shop Technician in our Palmdale, CA facility.

  • Prepare surface and paint composite and metal components including bodywork, contour shaping and sanding. Apply spray application of epoxy paints, urethane and water based epoxy coatings, using a high volume low-pressure spray gun.
  • Knowledge and experience with the use of HVLP Spray guns, orbital sanders, sanding blocks, measuring equipment and hand tools.
  • Knowledge and experience of paint preparation on composite and metal materials.
  • Application and sanding of body fillers on flat and contoured surfaces using sanding blocks and orbital sanders.
  • Knowledge and experience of properly mixing and spraying urethane, epoxy and Carc coatings.
  • The ability to tint and match paint colors using toners, binders and balancers.
  • Composite repairs using epoxy resins
  • Application of decals and stencil painting
  • Part identification using stamp or laser etch methods
  • Installs, modifies, and tests assigned aircraft structural, composite, avionics, and electrical systems to ensure they are operational and meet required quality standards. May be assigned to coordinate an installation.
  • May complete complex structural, composite, avionic, and electrical repairs.
  • Completes required documentation after installation and testing.
  • Troubleshoots, identifies, resolves, and documents system issues including mechanical, electrical, engine or fuel. May recommend procedural and/or design/production changes.
  • Performs various system modifications due to technical updates and/or customer requests including final operational testing and assurance they meet quality standards.
  • May provide direction to less experience staff and may develop and present training.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications:
  • Typically requires high school diploma or equivalent with one or more years of experience.
  • Must be able to work with common hand tools.
  • Must be able to perform a variety of routine tasks and demonstrate a good working knowledge of laboratory equipment and procedures.
  • Ability and willingness to work on systems which have unusual conditions such as high pressure, high voltage, high energy, cryogens, or radioactive materials.
  • Knowledge of computer operations and applications pertinent to the field required.
