Cryotech Deicing Technology, a division of General Atomics, is a leader in the development and manufacturing of deicing products for aircraft, runways and other applications, currently has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Specialist in Ft. Madison, Iowa.
Under close supervision, this position is responsible for maintaining and repairing routine electrical systems and equipment.
- May troubleshoot and repair interior and exterior lighting system components such as ballasts, lamps, sensors, and time-clocks.
- Able to identify electrical circuit problems and cause of overloads.
- Assists more experienced electricians during troubleshooting, installation and repairs of more complex electrical systems and assists in other facility department functions such as painting, plumbing, and carpentry.
- Assists in maintaining routine electrical systems and equipment.
- Cuts, threads, bends, couples, and straps conduit. Cuts wire and conduit to length and pulls wire.
- Installs, repairs, or replaces wall switches, occupancy sensors, light bulbs, ballasts, and extension cords.
- Assists in the maintenance and repair of the security system components such as card readers, gate controls, and electrified door hardware.
- Assists in other facility areas as required.
- Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
- Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices. Additional Functions Other duties as assigned or required. Job Qualifications:
- Typically requires education or formal training equivalent to the completion of a two-year technical degree or trade school equivalency and two or more years of progressive experience in operation and maintenance of electrical equipment.
- Must demonstrate a basic understanding of electrical principles and concepts.
- Must possess a valid State driver's license with a good driving record verified by the Motor Vehicle Department.
- Basic knowledge and use of electrical hand tools and voltage or amperage measuring and recording devices;
- Good analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document and report information.
- The ability to work both independently and in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours as required.
